Forget Me Not Holiday Cottage - Armathwaite

Dog Friendly Review

Forget Me Not Holiday Cottage

Myself and my partner stayed in a beautiful three story cottage nestled in the heart of Armathwaite village, Cumbria. This gorgeous cottage can be booked through Sykes cottages.

I spoke with the lovely owner before visiting. Helen was very helpful and was just a call away if any problem arose.

We were greeted with a lovely welcome gift of chilled Prosecco, a beer and a tin of biscuits. The cottage catered well for visiting dogs with treats, bowls and poop bags. The Cottage was extremely clean throughout

The Rooms

The kitchen was well equipped, all the usual appliances; electric oven , microwave, fridge freezer, there was literally everything that you need. There was little to pack for this trip, just food and clothes.

There were two bedrooms in the cottage, the main room with a double bed and the other with a single. The beds were unbelievably comfy which enabled me to have a good night’s sleep.

There was space outside the cottage to park one car. To the back of the cottage there was a fully enclosed garden which was great for letting Reggie out on his own, whilst I watched through the conservatory. The conservatory had a heater which enabled it to be used in the winter. Bike storage was all available if required.

Location

There were a few local pubs within 2 minutes walking distance and a shop with everything you might need. This was handy for stocking up logs for the fire.

There is plenty to do locally but if you want to travel a little further and head into the Lake District then Penrith is only 11 miles away. There are numerous information leaflets in the cottage for local attractions.

Unfortunately things to do during the stay were limited due to the extreme wet and windy weather but we did manage a visit to the local pub, check out a local walk which took us along the beautiful River Eden and took a visit to 19th century Lowther Castle, which had an excellent exhibition and the most beautiful gardens

Myself and my partner felt very relaxed and at home on this trip and thoroughly enjoyed chilling out and sitting by the cosy log burner with a glass of fizz.

Thank you for such an enjoyable stay Forget Me Not Holiday Cottage.

See you again soon!
