Riverdale Cottage - Rhuddlan
RiverDale Cottage
My friend and I stayed in a beautiful stone built 2 bedroom cottage. We absolutely loved everything about this stay. The decoration in this house is beautiful throughout, with its natural wooden beams and its fresh, bright and cheerful rooms.
We were allowed to bring two dogs on this stay so Torvi the Collie and her owner Katie joined us
The Cottage
Opening the front door the cottage immediately felt ‘homely’ with its cast iron fire. There was a lovely welcome gift of Welsh Cakes, crisps, teas and coffees in a basket.
The view from the bedroom was incredible with views overlooking the countryside and 13th century Rhuddlan castle.
There was an Newspaper article on the living room wall which we found very interesting. The owners had found it in the upstairs fireplace, it was an article about Winston Churchill.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed having snacks in the evening and having breakfast from the breakfast bar listening to chilled music on Alexa.
The back porch adjacent to the kitchen was a utility room. This was a great place to dry off the dogs after a wet walk. There was also a dog hanger for their leads.
There was a driveway with off road parking and a fully enclosed garden to the back with astro turf.
Unfortunately dogs were not allowed upstairs and there was a dog gate at the bottom of the stairs but this was totally understandable . This wasn’t a problem for us.
Local area
This is the perfect location for a stay. There were pubs and shops within a 2 minute walking distance from the cottage and a cafe nearby.
We had a lovely lunch sitting outside Green Island Bistro and then chose to do a local walk to the top of Graig Fawr which was stunning. We were lucky enough to have some good weather on this trip.
We also took a trip to Rhyl beach where we enjoyed a hot chocolate (probably the nicest hot chocolate I’ve ever had) from Kite surf Cafe. As it was winter we literally had the whole beach to ourselves which the dogs absolutely loved.
The Castle was closed for the season and reopened in March. We would love to revisit and take a look around this castle.
This stunning cottage would be my perfect home. There was such a warm feeling to this cottage, so much so we didn’t actually want to leave.
Thank you so much for inviting us RiverDale Cottage
